Join Us for Our 20th Journey to the Batik Capital of the World—Bali, Indonesia!

World of Quilts Travel invites you on an unforgettable adventure to the magical island of Bali—our 20th visit to this inspiring destination! Known as the batik capital of the world, Bali offers a rich blend of textile tradition, natural beauty, and vibrant culture that makes it a dream destination for quilters, creatives, and travelers alike.

With decades of experience leading textile-focused tours, we’ve curated an exclusive itinerary that offers so much more than just sightseeing. This tour is your chance to fully immerse yourself in the world of Balinese batik through hands-on workshops, exclusive experiences, and incredible access to local artisans.

A major highlight of the tour is our private, behind-the-scenes visit to the Hoffman California-International Fabrics batik factory, where you’ll witness the intricate, time-honored batik-making process and gain insight into the Hoffman family’s long-standing relationship with the island. You’ll also take part in two immersive batik workshops, where you’ll create your own fabric using traditional methods—an experience that’s both inspiring and unforgettable.

But that’s just the beginning. You’ll travel across the island with our expert local guide, who brings deep knowledge of Bali’s arts, culture, and textile history. Along the way, you’ll explore colorful markets where beautiful batiks sell for as little as $2.50-$3.00 USD per meter, indulge in authentic Balinese cuisine, and meet the warm and welcoming people who make this island so special.

We welcome travelers from all over the world, and past guests have joined us from countries like South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Turkey, India, and the Netherlands. No matter where you’re from, you’ll feel right at home as part of our quilting travel community.

This is more than just a tour—it’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter, a textile enthusiast, or just someone looking for a unique and meaningful travel experience, this journey through Bali will leave you inspired and renewed.

Come create your own batik fabrics, connect with fellow travelers, and experience the color, spirit, and wonder of Bali in a way that only World of Quilts Travel can offer.

Our 2026 tour is planned during Bali’s HIGH SEASON, meaning the weather is at its best!

Why go with us?  Know who you are traveling with – find out more here.

WEATHER -Bali is approximately 8 degrees south of the equator. So, you can expect a tropical, warm and humid climate all year around with two main, distinctive seasons: DRY and RAINY.

The best time to travel to Bali depends mainly on the weather, the rainy season is from October – mid April, the dry season is from May – September. We plan our Batik Lover’s Journey to take advantage of the best weather Bali has to offer, hopefully avoiding the torrential downpour possibilities of the rainy season.
