Our most popular tour!

People tell us it is like no other tour they’ve been on, and they are right.  Our tour of France is unique from any other quilt related France tour and of course, we like it that way.  It’s not only our most popular tour but France was the first tour we offered in 2005.  Since then, we’ve become very acquainted with all that France has to offer any quilt and textile enthusiast and have selected the best places for this visit. On this in-depth tour designed especially for quilt enthusiasts, we mean “IN DEPTH”, we will never just skim the surface of France’s history, culture, food or their famous quilt and textile world.  Our guide is even a quilter! Our years of experience here allows us to open doors for you to see things that are not usually available to the public. In addition, this 2023 tour has been hand-curated for you to experience the best of its history, people, food, natural beauty and of course, France’s quilt and textiles.   Together we will enjoy the amazing European Patchwork Meeting, amazing museums, fabric shops, quaint markets, the best scenery France has to offer and so much more!

The list of reasons to visit France is endless! France is the world’s most visited country and is blessed with stunning landscapes comprising of Alpine mountains, beautiful meadows, farms, rivers and a spectacular sea coast. It has given the world the idea of “liberty, equality and justice” along with several other cultural imports.  Our tour will make a circle visit from Paris, the capital city, to the South and the region of Provence and spectacular vistas, and to the East to Alsace, home of the European Patchwork Meeting.

Our group will meet and spend  in four delightful days in Paris enjoying the museums, Parisian culture and fabric fun and from there go to the south. It’s a ride on the fast speed TGV train to Provence where we will enjoy 5 nights in Avignon at a historic monastery that has been reimagined and restored into a luxury hotel.  The history in Avignon goes back to the 12th century and textile history from this area is not far behind it. Avignon is surrounded by lush green perfumed valleys and its ancient streets are lined with beautifully restored old houses.  Once you’ve spent a few days in Provence…like me, you will soon be seduced by its charm! While strolling through Avignon’s narrow winding streets you will discover fantastic old fountains, shady squares, picturesque restaurants and elegant boutiques.   From Avignon we travel Northeast to Alsace for the famous European Patchwork Meeting, spending three incredible days among the vineyards of the picturesque and charming villages here. Finally we will return to Paris where our airport hotel will welcome us for our last night in France.
