TOUR MANAGERS & TOUR GUIDES
Each of our land tours is accompanied by a Tour Manager from our office. The Tour Manager is not a guide but a group facilitator, ensuring the trip runs smoothly from start to finish. They provide general guidance and practical support throughout your journey.
Our Tour Managers are selected for their experience in group travel and are there to offer insights to enhance your travel experience from a quilter’s perspective. The tour manager’s primary role is to keep the tour running smoothly — not to provide area information or personal physical assistance. If you require physical assistance, please plan to bring a travel companion to help you.
In addition to the Tour Manager, each land tour includes a licensed Tour Guide who specializes in history, art, archaeology and specific area knowledge. The Tour Guide, hired by our local tour supplier, is the only person authorized to conduct guided tours in many areas we visit. The guide will be the one to answer questions about the tour, itinerary, meals, accommodations, and other logistical matters.
Tour Guides are officially licensed to lead guided tours.
When Deb Roberts is not accompanying a group, one of the dedicated Tour Managers listed below will travel with you to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.
JAN SMITH
Jan has quilted and traveled throughout the world for most of her adult life. She has been both a tour participant and tour manager for us since 2015. She brings a warm and friendly enthusiasm for both quilts and travel as well as for the people she meets along the way. A dedicated quilter Jan has taught quilting for fifteen years and is a prolific quilt maker.
Jan enjoys spending time with our groups and will enhance your trip in many ways.
LINDA PUMPHREY
Linda brings an exuberant and passionate personality to our small group of travel leaders. In addition to her lifelong passion for quilts and textiles, she’s an avid and ardent traveler. Since our founding, Linda has been an active traveler on many of our tours and cruises and has served as a tour manager, co-group leader and quilting teacher.
Linda is excited to share our adventures, quilts and textiles, customs and sites your trip will bring. She will strive to make your trip a wonderful fun filled experience.
